Alberta government continues work on spear-hunting ban

The government is still working on a plan to ban hunting with a spear after a video was posted last year of an American hunter throwing a spear at a black bear in northern Alberta.
After the video made headlines last August, the government labelled it “archaic” and “unacceptable” and promised to ban the practice by the fall. That deadline has come and gone, but a ban could be coming soon.
