Alberta government buys 1,600 Indigenous atlases for junior and senior high students

Thumbing through the Canadian Geographic Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada for the first time on Friday, Brad Anderson was “blown away” by the detail.
Cursory textbook blurbs, Canadian maps bearing only provincial boundaries and careful Google searches that teachers rely on now are inadequate for teaching Canada’s Indigenous history and geography, said Anderson and his colleague Aaron Allison, social studies teachers at Ben Calf Robe-St. Clare Catholic School in Edmonton.
