Alberta flu-related deaths spike to 31 for the season

Alberta’s flu-related death toll has risen to 31 for the season, including 10 deaths in the Edmonton region and 16 in Calgary, according to new statistics from Alberta Health Services.
At the same point last year, AHS had reported 17 flu-related deaths in the province.
The new update, released Thursday, is the first since Dec. 21. At that time, the province had recorded 19 flu-related deaths, including 12 in the Calgary zone and four in the Edmonton region.
