Highland Gathering thrives through adversity

A cancelled festival, a pandemic, wildfire smoke, and heavy rain have all threatened the Sherwood Park Highland Gathering over the years. Each time, organizers found a way forward.That spirit of resilience has become part of the festival’s identity as it prepares for its sixth year at Broadmoor Lake Park.Festival president Roxanne Carr said the gathering was created after the Edmonton Highland Games at Fort Edmonton Park were cancelled in 2018, ending a tradition that had run for nearly t
