Winter weather challenges White River gold mine

Severe winter weather hampered the start of of production at Harte Gold’s Sugar Zone Mine in White River.
Commercial production began at the site on Jan. 1.Cold conditions caused contractor equipment failures and froze water in the mine’s tailings management facility in January and February, the company says.Conditions improved in March. First-quarter results are expected to be released in mid-May.A feasibility study, suggesting a 14-year mine life, will be issued soon.Geoffrey Cohen
