Turn clocks ahead Sunday; refresh smoke alarm batteries

It’s spring ahead!
Clocks officially turn forward on Sunday at 2 a.m., marking the unofficial start of spring.
The Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department also says its time to test all hard-wired and battery-operated smoke alarms to ensure they are in working condition.
They recommend that all batteries be changed in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
In addition, the alarms themselves all have expiry dates and should be replaced according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
