Turco steps down as Algoma U's chancellor

A veteran educator is stepping down as chancellor of Algoma University.Mario Turco, former Algoma District School Board director of education, has held the ceremonial role since 2020. His departure is effective Oct. 15, a release said. “ Mario has championed Algoma University and advocated for access to education for all individuals,” said board chair Rob Battisti. Turco authored Algoma University: Our Story – Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present, Welcoming the Future.
