Top honours

Clyde Healey and Edythe Trembinski, on behalf of her late husband Gary, accept the Medal of Merit award from Mayor Matthew Shoemaker. The third recipient, Morley Torgov, tuned in from Toronto by video. The Medal of Merit is Sault Ste. Marie’s highest honour and is awarded annually since 1972 to individuals or groups making exceptional contributions to the community in athletics, arts, or academic fields.
