Stolen cheques cashed: POLICE

A man stole a chequebook from a vehicle and cashed cheques totalling about $900, police say.The theft happened last August with cheques cashed in mid-November.A suspect was wanted on a warrant. He was arrested Tuesday.Wayne Hewitt, 48, of Boston Avenue, was charged with fraud under $5,000, possession of stolen property, uttering a forged document and breach of probation.
His court date is April 15.
