Senior on scooter dies of collision injuries

An elderly Elliot Lake man riding a mobility scooter died after being struck by a vehicle in that community last Sunday.Donald Chartier, 80, was riding his scooter on Hillside Drive South in the early afternoon. He was hit by a minivan backing up out of a driveway, Const. Phil Young told The Sault Star.Chartier was taken to St. Joseph’s General Hospital before being transferred to Sudbury for further treatment.
