Sault’s annual bird count beats 10-year average

Bird watchers and nature lovers recently completed Sault Ste. Marie’s 64th annual Christmas Bird Count.
Local sightings are recorded as part of the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, which has run in numerous cities across North America since 1900, said Carter Dorscht, Sault Naturalists spokesperson and compiler for the local count.
It’s done “to help monitor bird population levels across North America,” said Dorscht. “The data is compiled by the Audubon Society and made
