Sault sets rules for outdoor patios

Outdoor patios at licensed bars and restaurants were allowed to open in Sault Ste. Marie last Friday, June 12.
Some rules were set by city administration.
• patio extensions need to be adjacent to the premises;
• municipal approval is necessary;
• licensees can demonstrate control over the patio extension;
• no existing condition on the liquor sales licence prohibits a patio;
• patio capacity provides a minimum space of 1.11 square metres a person.
