Sault gains major cycling event

Hundreds of cyclists from across North America descended on Sault Ste. Marie on Aug. 17 to take part in a challenging race across Algoma’s rugged terrain.
Crank the Shield is a three-day-long race that challenges experienced cyclists across different types of trails. Though the race was previously held in Haliburton, its organizers decided to breathe new life into the event by bringing it north.
