Sault council backs Algoma-Roshel partnership for federal defence contract

Sault Ste. Marie city council is urging the federal government to consider an Algoma Steel – Roshel partnership when considering awarding defence procurement contracts.A resolution, moved by Ward 2 Coun. Luke Dufour and Ward 5 Coun. Corey Gardi, lobbies the Government of Canada to consider proposals that “maximize Canadian content, Canadian steel production, domestic manufacturing capacity, sovereign industrial capability and long-term economic benefits to Canadian communities&rdquo
