Sault cancels festivities, fireworks July 1

Sault Ste. Marie has cancelled this year’s Canada Day events, including the annual fireworks display, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Public health guidelines and the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act have prompted the city to urge residents to decorate their houses, doors, windows and yards with Canadiana, says a media release from city hall.
Citizens can submit photos of their handiwork to the city’s Facebook page, via #SaultCelebratesCanadaDay.
