Remedial reading program expands

A remedial reading program is being expanded to all Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board elementary schools.The English Catholic board will spend $49,500 for nine Empower Reading kits and training.Empower Reading was piloted at Holy Cross and Holy Family in September 2017 and expanded to St. Basil, St. Paul, St. Mary’s French Immersion, St. Francis French Immersion and Sacred Heart in Espanola last September.“The students’ reading levels have gone up significantly,&rdq
