Producers to take on full recycling cost

City council accepted a recommendation from Public Works and Engineering Services to aim for a transition of the city’s recycling program to full producer responsibility by Sept. 30, 2023.
The report and recommendation presented at the June 8 meeting of council came as a result of a request from the Association of Municipalities Ontario that all municipal governments in the province pass a resolution indicating their preferred timeline for the transition.
