Police board backs Special Olympics

Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board is joining 2019 Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games.The board is contributing $5,000 to the four-day event that begins Jan. 31.Games manager Shaun Beaulieu is a city police constable.The budget for the event is $600,000.During a police board meeting on Thursday afternoon, Beaulieu said about $300,000 has been raised to date.
