Operation crumble – PHOTO GALLERY

Front portions of the former General Hospital are dismantled Friday afternoon. Demolition, which began on the Lucy Street side of the building, is expected to continue until October. Current work comes on the heels of the final interior inspection confirming all asbestos abatement had been completed, and the building was ready to be crumbled. Since the fall of 2025 GIP has removed 380 loads of debris from the site, weighing 4,007 tonnes.
