Observatory named for Bondar

An observatory in the Northwest Territories is now named after Sault Ste. Marie native Roberta Bondar.Dr. Roberta Bondar Northern Observatory is the new name of the site at Fort Smith Star Park. The observatory is operated by Thebacha and Wood Buffalo Astronomical Society.Bondar, a Sir James Dunn Collegiate and Voational School graduate, is Canada’s first woman in space.
