New municipal government will decide if cannabis stores permitted within city

One of the first tasks a newly minted municipal government will have to deal with is whether Sault Ste. Marie should opt out of having private cannabis stores within its city limits.
The provincial government has reversed a Liberal plan that would have seen cannabis stores operated by the Ontario government, similar to LCBO stores.
Instead Premier Doug Ford and his new government have said it will scrap that plan and launch a private retail store system for selling legal recreational marijuana.
