New accommodation tax kicks in Jan. 1
The city’s new municipal accommodation tax kicks in Jan. 1.
The tax means a 4 per cent fee will be applied to stays in hotels, motels, lodges, inns, resorts, bed and breakfasts or any other place an accommodation is provided if the stay is for less than 30 consecutive days. College and university residences are exempt from the tax.
