Library board decides to close Korah Branch

The Sault Ste. Marie Library Board has passed a resolution to close its Korah branch.
The decision comes only weeks after city council passed its 2019 budget, trimming the board’s request for additional monies.
The library board had requested $2,959,910 in annual funding but in the end received $2,745,100.
The $214,810 shortfall was further reduced with funding of $85,000 to cover an additional request for capital fees needed for the new North library branch.
