Letters highlight war's cost at Remembrance Day service
Letters between a Canadian soldier and his sweetheart will help put a human face on sacrifices made during wartime at Sunday’s Remembrance Day service.Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 is organizing the morning gathering at GFL Memorial Gardens. A century has passed since the First World War, called the War to End All Wars, ended on Nov. 11, 1918.Three grandchildren of Russell Radford, a Canadian naval veteran who died in 2005 at age 83, will read the correspondence from the First World War.
