Karen Bird named to ATHENA award

This year’s ATHENA Leadership Award went to Karen Bird, in recognition of her commitment to community in Sault Ste. Marie and Batchewana First Nation.
Janice Beatty, vice-president corporate and student services at Sault College, local sponsors of the award, noted that Bird is looked on as a women’s role model, “…highly motivated… with a deep sense of rallying community spirit, building on success and achievement,” reads a media release from Sault Ste. Marie
