Hornepane mayor responds to nuclear storage critics
The Township of Hornepayne, Ont., population 980, is one of the five remaining candidates to host 5.2 million log-sized bundles of used nuclear fuel, known as “high-level nuclear waste,” produced in Canada.
On Thursday, the Sault Star spoke with townspeople opposed to the project as well as Bradley Hammond, senior communications manager the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), the organization facilitating the site selection for the nuclear waste.
