Hearst Street fire is now police probe

A fire that badly damaged a central-area home is now being investigated by Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.Firefighters were called to 9 Hearst St., at about 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 16.No one was hurt.Ontario Fire Marshal investigator James Allen probed the scene.“This is now an active police investigation,” he said in an email to The Sault Star.Police media liaison Lincoln Louttit is tight-lipped about the police probe.“Everything is still under investigation there,” he said.
