Harvest Algoma takes root

Harvest Algoma has reaped its first round of volunteers and plans to hire two more staff by early 2019.The United Way of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District program drew 14 helpers at its first recruitment fair on Oct. 2.The volunteers will start baking next week with muffins and loaves produced earmarked for Neighbourhood Resource Centre and food banks.“We’re ramping up very quickly,” said director of operations Mike Delfre following an official opening ceremony on Thursday.H
