Harvest Algoma gets 1,000 pumpkins

Sault Ste. Marie residents and businesses donated more than 1,000 pumpkins to Harvest Algoma.The United Way agency appealed for contributions to help feed the hungry.The appeal brought in about 1,060 pumpkins, food resource centre co-ordinator Jessica Laidley told The Sault Star.
“It was overwhelming,” she said of the response. “The community was very generous.”About 30 per cent of the pumpkins were donated by Metro’s Churchill Plaza location and RJ’s Market.M
