First advance poll draws nearly 700

Nearly 700 Sault Ste. Marie residents participated in the first of three advance polls for the upcoming civic election.Residents of Ward 2 posted the strongest turnout, casting 191 of the 688 total votes cast, a release says. The advance poll was open for eight hours at Civic Centre.Two more advance polls will be held – Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.Voting day is Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
