Fire causes heavy damage to First Avenue home

An electrical fire caused significant damage to a vacant home on First Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.A neighbour saw smoke at the single family dwelling in the 300 block and called 911 at about 4:45 p.m., said deputy chief Paul Milosevich of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.The fire started in a bedroom area due to failed electrical wiring.No one was hurt.The home was under renovation.
