Fatal off-road ATV collisions up
Ontario Provincial Police report fatal off-road riding collisions are up.
The service responded to 20 fatal off-road vehicle collisions, an 18 per cent increase over the 17 that had occurred by this time last year, says a media release. Four of the fatalities were of ATV passengers.
Twelve of the deceased had not worn a helmet, police say. More than half of the drivers and passengers who have died in off-road vehicle collisions in the past 10 years had not protected their heads.
