Failed northern highways bill shows need for cross-aisle co-operation

Last November something happened at Queen’s Park that is kind of a big deal, and yet somehow very few people are still talking about it.
Guy Bourgouin, the NDP MPP for Muskegowuk-James Bay, put forward a bill called  Making Northern Ontario Highways Safer.
The bill would have brought standards for the maintenance of our northern highways in line with those of the 400-series. Although the bill had significant support among the NDP and the public, it was voted down thanks to the PC majo
