Economic development highlights mayoral campaigns

Over the past year, major changes have been made to how economic development is pursued in Sault Ste. Marie. 
The existing city council took $500,000 from the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corp. and transferred it to a city-run department it titled the community development and enterprise services department. Responsibilities have been divided between the EDC, the city and the Innovation Centre.
