Deep fryer sparks Black Road fire

Significant damage was caused to a home at 573 Black Rd., on Tuesday evening, when an unattended deep fryer caught fire in the kitchen. A dog was given oxygen and taken to a veternarian to be checked. The canine did not need further treatment, said public education officer Aaron Gravelle of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.
