Decision to switch to OPP reversed
PRINCE TOWNSHIP — In a sudden about-face, council voted to accept a five-year contract with Sault Ste. Marie for policing services instead of going ahead with a planned switch to the OPP in 2019.
The vote followed lengthy closed session discussions with the city’s police Chief Hugh Stevenson, and Graham Wight, a police services advisor with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
