Council approves transient accommodation tax
A new accommodation tax is coming to Sault Ste. Marie in 2019 and the revenue will be used to promote regional tourism.
While a similar tax – where hotel participation has been voluntary — has been in place for years in Sault Ste. Marie, the provincial government has passed legislation that enables municipalities to implement a transient accommodate tax for stays under 30 days at all hotels.
