City budget could see $1M surplus
If Ol’ Man Winter doesn’t arrive too early, and other financial trends stay on track for the last quarter of the fiscal year, the City of Sault Ste. Marie could see itself with a budget surplus of at least $1 million at year end.
A third-quarter financial report presented to city council Monday indicates that winter control budget is trending under budget and, if that trend continues, could result in a positive variance of about $350,000.
