Christmas tree will last longer if it always has water

With Christmas fast approaching, most of us are getting our tree up and decorated. I can remember back to my childhood when we went out as a family to cut a live evergreen for the holiday season.
We would trek out though the back of our property looking for a pine to cut. Dad was always looking for the straightest trunk, but we rarely found one growing in the bush that was perfect. However, there was always a way to situate the tree and decorate it so that it was magical despite any flaws.
