Chips off the old block
With Algoma College under the direction of the Whiteside Commission, a move back to the Sault College site didn’t sit well with Don Jackson. Even though most at Algoma liked their beautiful campus, many were agreeable to move back to where they had come from in the first place.
Jackson wanted to maintain its presence on the Shingwauk site in order to let a diverse cross-cultural centre for learning develop there while, at the same, time maintain the Indigenous connection.
