CAS faces ‘tough’ changes

Provincial government funding cuts are forcing the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma to change where and how it does its business.
CAS will close its Blind River office by the end of the year and cut its staff across the organization by 10 per cent.
Some staff cuts have already occurred, said CAS executive director Kim Streich-Poser.
CAS is operating under a new funding model that saw reductions in 2018 and 2019, as well as a 10 per cent hold back this year, Streich-Poser said.
