Canadians help build new lock in Michigan Sault
Workers from the Canadian Sault are helping build the new lock in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.An estimated 15 carpenters, labourers and ironworkers from north of the border are helping with the roughly $3-billion project that’s expected to finish in 2030. They are part of a 600-strong workforce that also includes operators, electricians and other trades drawn from 35 states including Hawaii, Florida and Texas.
