Be sure to water correctly

Last week I wrote about plant disease as it is the time of year when problems start to crop up. This week I was planning to follow up with information about insect control, but this extended period of hot, dry weather has shifted my focus.
I spent several hours yesterday morning giving most of my gardens a deep thorough soak. I have very sandy soil and with this prolonged hot weather we have had, they were absolutely parched. I also soaked all my containers thoroughly so they will hold well duri
