Wine World: Bobal rising in prominence with good reason
I came across a rosé in Coop and was so struck by the stuff I ended up buying and drinking the companion red wine made from the same grape. I knew nothing about Bobal and less about Utiel-Requena, where the grape is dominant, before drinking these two bottles. Apparently the region – inside Valencia, almost at the top of the La Mancha plateau – has been making wine since 700 BCE.
