West Wind lays off pilots after almost three months on the ground
Three months after its airline operator certificate was suspended and its fleet grounded following a fatal crash in northern Saskatchewan, West Wind Aviation has laid off almost 20 per cent of its pilots.
The airline confirmed Wednesday that 10 first officers — who fly alongside the captain in command of an aircraft — have been handed pink slips. In a prepared statement, West Wind blamed reduced mining and exploration in northern Saskatchewan.
