Vote on firepits in Saskatoon pushed back by city council after amendment to proposed time limits

The “incredibly divisive” debate over backyard firepits in Saskatoon will continue until at least next month, after city council again delayed a vote on proposed time limits.
Council had been scheduled to vote Monday on a 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. time limit for firepit use in the city. Instead, following an amended proposal by Coun. Mairin Loewen that would include a 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. time limit, council chose to push the vote back until next month’s meeting.
