Video: City hall to explore parental leave for Saskatoon councillors

Saskatoon city hall will study the possibility of parental leave for councillors to help remove some of the barriers women face when pursuing elected office.
Under current provincial rules governing absences by council members, any absence of longer than three months must be approved by city council.
Council on Monday endorsed pursuing a legislative change to allow leaves for parental duties and elder care that would not require a vote by council.
