Union votes down proposed agreement on Saskatoon Public Library transition

An attempt by the Saskatoon Public Library to reach an agreement with its unionized employees on a controversial restructuring failed after workers overwhelmingly rejected a memorandum of agreement put forward by management.
Library workers rejected the agreement, in part, because it outlined different methods for placing different employees in new positions and members preferred solidarity, said Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2669 president Pamela Ryder.
