U of S alumnus Cecil King shared love of teaching, language

When Cecil King was a Grade 12 student at an Ontario residential school, a provincial superintendent of education told him he would make a good teacher.
The remark surprised King, because students weren’t typically told they were good at anything.
He took the superintendent’s advice and never looked back, going on to spend nearly 60 years as a teacher, professor, researcher and consultant.
