Two lawsuits filed against Husky in connection with 2016 pipeline spill
Two Saskatchewan First Nations are seeking millions of dollars in damages from Husky Energy Inc. in connection with a pipeline spill that dumped thousands of litres of crude oil and condensate into the North Saskatchewan River two years ago.
Lawyers representing James Smith Cree Nation and Cumberland House Cree Nation filed the statements of claim in Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench on July 20, the second anniversary of the 225,000-litre spill.
